Privacy Experience
“It is only thanks to the permission to wander through people’s emotions, to sift through their memories, to access hidden feelings, that I can capture images unlike any others.
Indeed, it would not be possible to achieve the same result by crossing that boundary without being granted access.”
Paolo De Trane, the Photographer of Joy.

The Privacy project was born from an idea by Paolo de Trane, the Photographer of Joy. For some time, he had wanted to explore the concept of privacy and its implications when violated (with the owner’s consent) using technological tools. This is how a highly relevant topic—of breached, handled, or sold data—can touch everyone closely, especially when it intersects with the theme of solitude in the virtual world.
Privacy has a significant social impact: it offers the opportunity to authentically share, with the consent of the individual, important life experiences while literally putting a face to them—confession, denunciation, liberation. This process frees a part of the soul, which Paolo is able to capture in all its overwhelming beauty.
The emotions shared are fragments of life, lived memories, sensations that surface through unique expressions.
